After a while Candace came home from work and she yelled out Harriet where are you? Candace entered the living room and Harriet was on the black sofa observing nature. Then Harriet went to her owner, Candace, and said, “There is a big brown dog in our next door neighbor’s yard.”
Candace said, “No way.” And the fabulous wonderful cat Harriet replied back, “Yes way.” Let’s go look at the dog,” said Candace and Harriet answered, “Let’s go.”
“That’s fine. By the way, the dog tied to the chain is named Joey.”
“Hi Joey, I’m Harriet’s owner,” Candace said. “I’m going to go and give Joey some fresh water and food.” After a while Candace said, “We have to get Joey off of that chain.” So Candace said, “I’m call Animal Control. Hi, my name is Candace and there is a big brown dog in my neighbor’s back yard tied to a chain.” The lady on the phone said the crew would be there in seconds.
They arrived and asked, “Where is the dog?” and Candace replied, “Back right over there. “It looks like it’s been out here for months,” said the animal control person. Then the animal control people went in their truck to go and there their tools to take off the chain. So the guy got his hammer and banged on the old rusty chain and finally the chain came off.
Joey was so happy to be off the chain. He was running up and down the hill and playing fetch with a little red ball. The animal control people said, “Well now it’s time to take Joey to the nearest pound.
Candace replied back, “Will he be all right?
And they answered back,” We hope so.”
“Can I adopt Joey,” Candace asked. “I promise I will take better care of Joey than anyone.
They said, “Yes you can adopt him.”
“Now I have a brother,” yelled Harriet.
A year later Joey has a comfortable bed, some fresh food and water and the most loving joyous home on Earth. Joey got neutered and the first thing Joey did was get a microchip and his cute green collar. He sure adored his new owner now.
One day Joey went to Candace and he had the tennis ball in his mouth and barked, “Roof, roof, roof, and Candace grabbed the tennis ball and threw it as high as she could. Joey jumped in the air and he caught it perfectly. As you can see, his life changed a lot.

Get Harriet waited for Candace to get back from work. When she got home Harriet ran and pointed at Joey. Candace was shocked. She quickly got her tools and started hammering the rusty chain. Candace finally broke the chain just before the owner got home. She took Joey and called the police. Harriet’s owner told them the owner’s are doing animal cruelty. The police arrested the owners and Candace took Joey into the house. She took a bowl, filled it with fresh water and gave some dog food to Joey. She also gave him a new bone.

So Harriet goes home to see if Candace is there. She waits a little bit for Candace to get to the house. When Candace gets back Harriet tells her about Joey. Candace and Harriet go outside to look. Then Candace calls her friend Amanda who volunteers at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Center. Amanda arrives at Candace’s home and they go look at Joey. Amanda talks to the owner and he lets her take off the chain and to the shelter. A little bit later Candace and Harriet decide to go to the shelter to get Joey. They adopt him and he feels great when they get home Candace gives Joey some water and food and they live as a big happy family.
