2010 year in review
Because of a down economy, PACC911 had to work harder and smarter to speak out for the animals this year. And we did just that with successful adopt-a-thons, fundraising and awareness of issues.
Our many adopt-a-thons were all well publicized, well attended and successfully saw more animals find their new forever homes than in previous years..
Fundraising had to be more creative, and we needed more of it. We stepped up to the plate garnering the needed donations thus allowing us to continue our one of a kind program The Emergency Medical fund. Our partner groups benefit from this fund with their veterinary expenses, allowing them to save more lives.
This year PACC911 added new sponsors to our events. We now welcome not only Petco who has been a loyal sponsor for years, but also Petsmart Charities, Hartz Mountain, and Choice Pet Market.
This year PACC911 once again hosted the HOPE Awards, partnering with FACCS to also help County raise funds. This wonderful luncheon event honored outstanding volunteers from the rescue community and also introduced Captain Jay Kopelman USMC and author of From Bagdad with Love, the best-selling story of a rescued dog brought back from Iraq. Nancy Phelen was also recognized for her outstanding work in saving the animals in Rocky Point, Mexico.
PACC engaged in our 10th annual Bowlarama raising over $250,000 for the animals and also started the long fundraising process of creating another cookbook, Simply Delicious Too. Estimated revenue from this project will exceed $100,000 when completed.
In addition, the new Pawprints on the Heart greeting cards were created and are sold at all events! These cards offer animal lovers poignant message cards not found anywhere else!
PACC engaged in several new venues for our adoption events getting exposure for the animals into new communities, such as Gilbert and Sun City.
Our educational Programs, Rockets Rangers and Breaking the chain continue to teach the message of kindness and compassion in the schools.
Volunteers for PACC911 have grown in number and loyalty and with this valuable help, our work continues to make a difference within the community.
With continued economic struggles, animal abandonment is still very high. The numbers of animals being relinquished to our County and all our PACC partners has also increased.
Our commitment to save as many of these precious lives as possible is surely there and we need YOUR help! It takes a village during tough times! Lets be that for the animals who need us!
Please adopt your next pet. Please commit to this pet for life. And, of course, please spay and neuter and be part of the solution!
Thank you all for your compassion, your support and your dedication to the sweet animals who have no voice but ours.
