Pilots and Paws is intended to be a meeting place for those that
rescue, shelter, or foster animals, and pilots or plane owners willing
to assist with the transportation of animals. It is not the intent of
Pilots N Paws to coordinate or arrange the activities of those
providing these valuable services, but to provide the environment in
which those involved can come together in a common place and arrange or
schedule rescue flights, overnight foster care or shelter, and all
other related activities. Through the discussion board those involved
can exchange information about transports publicly so that they can set
up an entire transport and share all information necessary to
successfully accomplish the goal, but also to allow others to volunteer
their efforts if they see help is needed to save animals.

Operation Roger is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of regional and
long-haul truckers who volunteer their time to share their love of
animals with people who run animal shelters or animal rescue groups who
are trying to save the lives of pets. This non-profit volunteer service was founded by truck driver Classy Lady in September 2005 after Hurricane Katrina left many animals homeless or separated from their owners. Her vision grew rapidly from merely hearing about a local crisis, to learning about constant transport needs of other animals, to a desire to help these deserving pets get to safer homes nationwide. This is being accomplished by the willing help of many volunteer truck drivers. Operation Roger is a unique group of kind-hearted, pet loving, volunteer over-the-road truck drivers who have become like family and discovered new friends. These drivers take the time and initiative to help rescue groups and individuals transport stranded, lost, abandoned, abused, or left behind pets become united with their loving families in new protective homes nationwide.
