THE VARIETALS & PET STORIES

DIZNEY'S BONE GOOD CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Dizney’s story:
Adopted from the pound as a youngster, Dizney is now a happy fourteen-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. When it came time to name her, her new parents decided she was the happiest puppy on earth with a never-ending cartoon smile befitting one of Walt’s creations. Plus, she ran around so much she made everyone dizzy. She still loves to play with her ball, and it’s usually found wedged tightly in her mouth. Diz’s Bone Good Cabernet Sauvignon will bring a smile to your lips as you drink up knowing you are saving another animal’s life.

About the wine: Rich and ripe, this organic cabernet features ripe berry aromas and an intensely fruity character. Smooth and well structured, it has soft velvety tannins on the finish. Well paired with lasagna, beef or spicy foods.

HERBIE'S HOUNDED PINOT NOIR

Herbie’s story:
A rescue group saved this loveable Basset Hound from the horrors of life as a puppy mill stud. Herbie was adopted out and returned, whereupon he became a permanent family member of his foster, who fell hard for this adorable character. Today he is nine years young, and loves to go for walks even with the discomfort of hip dysplasia and arthritis. A total love bug, he rolls over for belly rubs whenever anyone comes near. Herbie’s Hounded Pinot Noir has just the right touch of age with a nip of playfulness.

About the wine: An elegant red organic wine displaying the typical varietal aromas of Pinot Noir with layers of ripe red fruit flavors. It’s soft and fresh on the palate with a long lingering finish, delicious when served with roast chicken or seafood.

AMELIA'S WASCALLY WABBIT MALBEC

Amelia’s story:
Oh those adorable ears! An English Lop, eleven-year-old Amelia is already a star, having been featured on the cable television channel Animal Planet. She and her brother were rescued from a hoarder and due to her gentle nature, she went on to become a mascot and spokes-rabbit for Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue. Her Wascally Wabbit Malbec pays tribute to the first legendary bunny star (Bugs Bunny) and like our Amelia, has a gentle palette with just a hint of sauciness.

About the wine:  A medium bodied and soft Malbec will delight with plums, leather and chocolate overtones. With well-balanced acidity it provides a juicy and easy drinking red wine

MISSY'S CUTIE PAWTOOTY SAUVIGNON BLANC

Missy’s story:
Missy was brought home from the pound, saved at the very last moment from being euthanized the next day. Her new parents were told she was approximately ten years old. To their surprise, an x-ray revealed a microchip and after investigating it was discovered that the chip had been implanted way back in 1994. They have had her almost two years, and everyday is filled with joy.  Now sixteen years young, she is doing great and shows everyone how a senior dog can be a fabulous companion for a loving family. Just like Missy, Cutie Pawtootie Sauvignon Blanc is aged to perfection and an ideal addition to any home.

About the wine: A crisp, mouth watering organic Sauvignon Blanc with refreshing tropical and citrus fruit flavors and a clean well balanced finish. Delicious when served as an aperitif or with creamy pasta or grilled fish.

SAVANNAH'S FELINE NAUGHTY CHARDONNAY

Savannah’s story:
As a tiny abandoned kitten Savannah found her way to a garage, where a good samaritan brought her to work, looking for adopters. Her about to be new mom fell in love with this sweet peach colored girl at first glance. That was 11 years ago.

Soft spoken, well-mannered, kind, flirtatious and delicate, she was named because she was reminiscent of her mom's favorite southern city in Georgia: Savannah. We are told our elegant star cherishes her water bowls as if they were prized fine china plantation heirlooms handed down from generation to generation. Her Feline Naughty Chardonnay will tantalize any delicate palate with its sassy yet subtle tones.

About the wine:  Lovely straw yellow hues are laced with beautiful golden and greenish reflections. This unoaked chardonnay shows lively flavors and aromas of apricots, apples and tropical fruits. Crisp, medium bodied and well balanced; it pairs well with salads, pasta, fish, seafood and chicken.

TONKA'S LAP IT UP MERLOT

Tonka’s story:
Tonka was originally picked up as a stray and brought to the shelter, then taken in by New Hope Cattle Dogs. His new mom-to-be spotted him on their website. Instantly smitten when she saw his photo, she knew he was to be hers.  That was four years ago. It’s rumored that he looked like a little tank with a goofy expression on his face. She reports that he's five now, still goofy, and a wonderful dog!  He loves to stand on the end of the sofa and try to catch the toys thrown for his canine sister Sunny, when he finally gets one he runs off for dear life with her hot on his heels.  His Lap It Up Merlot is a sure winner for the discerning oenophile who loves to secretly slurp a delicious wine.

About the wine: This estate grown, organic, handcrafted merlot shows a deep red color with aromas of black pepper and ripe red fruit. Soft and well balanced this merlot displays all the characteristics of the varietal. The velvety and spicy finish matches perfectly with turkey, grilled meats, pasta and pizza.
